The twentieth edition of Wine Days confirmed Vrbnik as one of the key places in the wine-producing Kvarner and the natural center of Žlahtina. The jubilee edition was marked by wine, the audience, professional events and the strong atmosphere of a place that has been building its identity around viticulture for decades.
Although the beginning of the event was marked by bad weather, the professional part of the program was held, and a special place was occupied by the workshop "Decanters from Kvarner - The Best of Kvarner Wines". The workshop focused on Kvarner wines awarded at the Decanter World Wine Awards and showed why professional education must be an important part of wine events.
The program was held with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of the Republic of Croatia, Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, CPRR PGŽ, the Municipality of Vrbnik, the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Vrbnik and Gospoje, and we would like to thank Jamnica and all partners, exhibitors and participants.
Wine & Walk further demonstrated the potential of connecting wine with the space and experience of Vrbnik. It is in such content that we see the future of the event: less of a classic fair approach, and more of experience, expertise, gastronomy, movement through the place and quality contact between the audience and the winemakers.
After twenty years, the Wine Days have a valuable tradition, but also an obligation to further develop. The next edition should bring a new step forward in the concept and even more strongly position Vrbnik as a place of Žlahtina and contemporary wine culture in Kvarner.
