Association Kvarner Wines presented the project The Best of Kvarner Wines at the international food and wine festival Che Gusto! in Novigrad-Cittanova, presenting the quality, indigenous varieties and diversity of the Kvarner wine region to the Italian and international audience.
The wines represented at the joint presentation were: of all wineries gathered in Kvarner Wines:
Gospoja, Kapić, Katunar Estate Winery, Ivan Katunar Wine House, Nada, Plovanić wines, PZ Vrbnik, Ružić Mastola, Šipun, Mandić wines and Pavlomir Wine House.
This presented the audience with a broad cross-section of contemporary Kvarner winemaking – from the island of Krk and the wine-growing Vinodol to the Kastav region and Liburnia – with a special emphasis on indigenous varieties: Žlahtina, Sansigot, Jarbola, Kastavska Belica and Trojišćina, which represent one of the strongest elements of the identity of the wine region of Kvarner.
The performance in Novigrad was also used for the international promotion of key development projects of Kvarner Wines: Kvarner – European Region of Gastronomy 2026, Kvarner Wines Route and Žlahtina – Kvarner Wines Queen.
A special project was presented Kvarner Wine Route, which connects wineries, local producers, gastronomy, wine events and tourist experiences into a unique destination wine story of Kvarner, as well as the project Žlahtina – Kvarner Wines Queen, which further positions the most important indigenous white variety of Kvarner as one of the symbols of the region's identity.
Participating in Che Gusto! also had an important business and international dimension. During the festival, numerous contacts were made with Italian producers, wine professionals and potential partners, opening up space for new collaborations, exchange of experiences, joint projects and a stronger presence of Kvarner wines on the Italian market.
Kvarner Wines represented at the festival Egle Katunar, president of the Kvarner Wines Association, Dr. Žarko Stilin, director of Kvarner Wines, and Natalija Šnajdar Stilin.
The festival was also attended by Časlav Matijević, ambassador of Kvarner Wines and the project Kvarner - European region of gastronomy, which further emphasized the joint promotion of wine, gastronomy and the destination identity of Kvarner.

The appearance in Novigrad is part of Kvarner Wines' ongoing strategy aimed at internationalization of Kvarner wines, opening new markets, connecting with European partners and positioning Kvarner as one of the most interesting wine and eno-gastronomic destinations on the Croatian Adriatic.
