Its other name, Su\u0161\u0107an Crni, comes from the sandy island of Susak in the Lo\u0161inj archipelago, where the variety originates. Locally, it is also called &quot;hard grape&quot; or &quot;charming grape&quot;, and Sansigot wine loves wood because it rounds out its freshness. Today, after \u017dlahtina, Sansigot is the second most common Kvarner variety in vineyards, which are mostly located on the island of Krk.
